The South Park Sustainability Shop (South Park Sustainable)

It’s a process- finding the right partners (Vendor-Partners, allies, a work-force, infrastructure, licensing-dealership rights) and it’s a process that one can’t rush because FLVLLC-The South Park Development Group, through South Park Sustainable, is trying to develop a first-class, triple a, show-room highlighting zero-emission vehicles that have these three benefits: quality, affordability, and aesthetic value. Further, an alignment with our values’ paradigm.

South Park Sustainable Shop’s mission is to act as an influence agent driving our local government’s agencies and private/public organizations toward increasing the number of vehicles in their fleet that are zero-emission and motivating individuals toward using zero-emission vehicles as an alternative to cars, truck, motorcycles, and scooters without giving up quality or performance.

Vendor-Partners:

www.greenvehicles.com

Vans, trucks, cars, and motorcycles from this Palo Alto based firm: excellent quality, value priced, and honorable, straight forward leadership.

http://www.greenpacks.org/2008/06/11/a2b-bicycle-ultra-motors-light-electric-vehicle-lev/

The A2B: a high-value, fleet –ready, powerful light, electric vehicle (LEV), again value priced.

The E+ Electric Bike: Powerful (very powerful), agile, tough: fleet-ready

Allies:

It’s early days yet, but we have the frame-work of very powerful institutional support and the backing of key-stake holders (The Chamber: Chairman Jorge Corralejo, Deputy Chairman Bob Holguin). We have a growing, powerful, diverse list of allies who have trusted us over the years, and for whom we have assisted in the knowledge that all good things return in some form or fashion. We are so fortunate in having such diverse, local, and global relationships: Forbes-The South Park Development Group lives and dies on connections and relationships build in flow, with ease and through constructive, mutual benefit.

A Work Force:

Again, early days-but the core team: Jeff, Eve, Biljana, Stef, et al are incredibly loyal, dedicated, and value-aligned with its leader.

Infrastructure:

A 7500 Sq Foot Prime A+ Showroom for B2C and B2B Sales (thanks’ to an incredible land-lord: Rasmus Lee, with PRE Brokerage) and a second, 3,500 Sq ft off-site ware-house office for repairs and customization.

Our goal? To build a local- Downtown Los Angeles based zero-emission vehicle manufacturing base: nothing less than transformational change, shoring up the local tax base and making South Park L.A and Downtown L.A a major electric vehicle manufacturing hub. Innovation, social justice, and massive ingenuity-right in the heart of Los Angeles: South Park Los Angeles.

Dealership DMV Licensing/Dealer Rights:

Almost complete with the DMV.

Fortunately, expeditiously we have secured local dealership rights for which we hope to advance to so-cal distributorship rights and globally-exporting ultimately to Europe and to Asia as, through my father’s businesses and long term connections, we see fortuitous possibilities.

How far have we come? Very, very far. How far do we have to go? The road ahead is at least 15-20 years ahead: we look forward to advancing with our allies, challenging those who would wish us ill, defending the rights of the poor and underprivileged, defending the rights of the environment, building the best Los Angeles possible, and making significant revenues and profits, in order, in part, to help the helpless.

hygge bakery: South Park on the rise

hygge bakery-Rasmus and Henrik would not give up

hygge bakery-Rasmus and Henrik would not give up

Rasmus Lee, Senior VP of PRE Brokerage and Co-Owner of Hygge, and Henrik Snook, Hygge’s master-baker, wanted to accomplish one thing: To build an authentic Danish Bakery serving fresh, crisp, layered goodies for the residents of South Park L.A and strong, rich, flavorful coffee.

One road  block after another:  city departments wrapped deeply in their own excess power and lack of accountability (ex. being forced to build an enormous grease pit when the kitchen does not produce any grease).

Through out it all Henrik continued to be Henrik: Affable, brilliant, all-smiles, and my source of morning inspiration.

And Rasmus-up to his ears in multiple business dealings: Real Estate, the bakery, and helping to evolve South Park into a more family freindly community-staying ahead of the demographic facts that face us: 30-35% families in the next three-five years, continued to seek solution, bounded by endless changes demanded of hygge by capricious city officials.

Then change: Jorge Corallejo (Chairman of the Greater Chamber) and Bob Holguin (Deputy Chairman) unwilling to allow a member to stand alone against the tide of being against business for the sake of being against business (hello-there’s a recession) called upon a different force within city hall: the small business development department, and in so doing, created a better picture: Solution.

Now? Now let’s enjoy the pastry, the bread, the crusty, flaky croissants, and the coffee-nothing like it.

Thanks Rasmus, Henrik, for staying the course-tough,and  perservering.

A little hope on 11th Street

All through out the day zero-emission, non-polluting vehicles were unloaded off an enormous flat bed truck, even as Martin Cavanaugh Porter, Douglas Schwartz, and the ELV-South Park Development Group Team were on the phones with important local stake-holders building support for transformational change: A city powered by completely non-polluting vehicles.

We’ll keep you posted on our cities’ powerful individuals and forces that could support us in our efforts to build a new, zero-emission manufacturing base, a new jobs force, and an exponential transformation in the quality of our life. And we will let you know those who oppose doing the right thing.

Mayor Villagroisa said that he wanted to make Los Angeles the greenest city in the United States….here’s his chance.

Supporting South Park's L.A's Environment

We are pleased to note that Dwight Guinto, Vice President and Katherine Marquez, Lending Specialist with Wells Fargo visited with us today to discuss Wells Fargo developing a financing frame-work for E L V-Motors-The South Park Development Group to launch a powerful line of zero-emission, high quality, value priced fleet vehicles.

Dwight and Katherine intuitively understood the nature of our project, it’s importance to Los Angeles and the value to Wells Fargo in supporting a, committed, zero-emissions company willing to relocate from Silicon Valley to Downtown Los Angeles (South Park Los Angeles, 90015).

We are pleased to note that Wells Fargo takes seriously green initiatives. One notes on their website “10-Point Environmental Commitment” (http://www.wellsfargo.com/about/csr/ea/commitment).

Further, we are pleased to note that Dwight and Katherine are putting together a team from the Bank to visit with us this week, aligning themselves and their institution with a formidable zero-emission vehicle company developing excellence and innovation in the heart of Los Angeles.

Finally, E L V Motors and The South Park Development Group notes that Wells Fargo’s first point on their ten-point environmental commitment is: “1. $1 Billion Commitment: We will provide over $1 billion in lending, investments, and other financial commitments over the next five years to environmentally beneficial business opportunities…” Douglas, Martin, and E L V South Park Development Group look forward to the team arriving shortly: joining  forces with us to make L.A truly green.

8am in South Park Los Angeles-looking for coffee….

It is  crisp, the air still cool and breezy, and the sun looming upward, light in it’s brightness,  just winking at Luma on Hope Street.

South Park L.A is a residential area-decidedly so and all demographic trends point to a vast, expanding pool of affluent families moving into 90015 in the next three-seven years.

For now we have Starbucks but soon we will have on Hope Street, just south of Eleventh, Hygge Bakery serving 27 layered danishes: light, airy, flaky, and delicious followed with strong coffee.

Starbucks is fine-South Park Los Angeles Blog is not  knocking them.

But an alternative sure will be nice-Hygge Bakery.

Update:Wabi Cycles,E L V Motors & The South Park Development Group is working to create new jobs and and shore up the local business tax base

Tomorrow ELV Motors and The South Park Development Group will begin a series of day-in, day-out bue sky sessions resulting in afoundational partnership to assemble and distribute zero-emission scooters to van in Los Angeles using D.T Los Angeles (South Park Los Angeles) as a ground zero hub for bleeding edge innovation.

What is on the table: The potential that E L V Motors will relocate their hq and plant to DT Los Angeles and that South Park Los Angeles will be used as an ideas incubator to prove the veracity and ingenuity of fully-electric scooters, vans, and cars.

Further that Wabi Cycles, an  easy-to-use, top quality, value-priced cycle company, founded by Richard Snook, a thirty year cycle industry veteran (www.wabicycles.com) whose cycles are assembled and hq in South Park Los Angeles will become an important driver motivating people to take short-distance trips on safe, aesthetically pleasing cycles.

Finally that local stake-holders like Rasmus Lee with PRE Brokerage (and Hygge Bakery-which, in alliance with The South Park Development Group will be using a fully electric, zero-emission delivery van for their bakery) are willing to think so far out of the box to get this city moving again, through new, innovative agreements.

These stories must be told and what is so motivating is that important forces are moving with the Rasmus Lee, Martin Cavanaugh Porter, The South Park Development Group, Wabi Cycles, and E L V Motors, to improve the quality of  life for the residents of Los Angeles.

EYD Candles EYD Organic Contemporary Furnishings: Artisan, wonderfully packaged, and local to South Park L.A

EYD Candles 213-745-5080

EYD Candles 213-745-5080

Eve Yun, international designer of organic, contemporary furniture and fine, hand crafted, beautifully packaged scented candles will be opening a full-scale organic contemporary furnishings boutique in South Park Los Angeles.

The soft-opening will be August 15th and the full-scale opening will be by September 15th.

Eve  developed her unique, scented, rose-inspired candles in Asia, developing a powerful b2b business all through-out Asia, Europe, and Dubai. Her organic-contemporary furnishings line is an international sensation.

Now, she has moved her operations to South Park Los Angeles (Downtown Los Angeles), for both her b2b business and a small retail environment within the Organic Contemporary Furniture and Accessory Boutique to bring residents of South Park L.A and all Los Angeles the gift of her furniture designs and unrivaled, packaged candles.

It’s a story of passion and excellence: A designer and a dream, unwilling to give up on herself, her business, her team, and her spirit.

And, now that story is a part of Los Angeles, and a pulsing heart beating brilliantly in South Park Los Angeles.

It is in these stories: Producers like Eve Yun, who are unwilling to let those who say what one does is ‘impossible’ stop them from innovating and developing beauty and quality-recession or no recession-that one fines redemption, and in so doing, the spirit in oneself to tread the harder road of excellence.

All South Park and her husband Martin Cavanaugh Porter (CEO of The South Park Development Group) is proud to have her as a resident (and wife!) and welcomes her soon to-be-born daughter: Emilie Cavanaugh Porter.

It’s a twofer: A producer (not a paper pusher) and a wonderful, generous, beyond-loyal lady who will not compromise her aesthetics or her values.

Much more on EYD Candles and EYD Organic Contemporary Furniture in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

South Park L.A: Ground Zero for true, zero-emission vehicle production and sales: from South Park’s innovation, a world can be transformed

The South Park Development Group and S Gail Goldberg, Los Angeles City Planner

She lives in Hancock Park and often takes the bus: Gail Goldberg is our chief city planner and she is a tremendous asset for Los Angeles: bringing a powerful advocacy to reducing congestion and getting people out of their cars and onto cycles (please see http://www.wabicycles.com/) and walking again: seeing Los Angeles in all it’s grit and grandeur.
She has an agenda that the Downtown L.A’s Business Blog supports: the 12-2 initiative: allowing developers to only deal with two city offices- the Planning, and Building and Safety departments, instead of the 12 they normally visit for approval.
We’d like her to look at what the South Park Development Group is doing in tandem with E L V Motors and Wabi Cycles: Developing a powerful inner-city zero-emission alternative to polluting cars and cycles. It’s called the South Park Sustainability Shop and it is selling, servicing, and customizing absolutely zero-emission cycles, all electric delivery vans, scooters, and cars, and motorcycles. Vans and cars you literally plug into a wall socket and recharge. Imagine, Gail, just imagine, a whole city department running off of fully electric fleet vans, and police on bicycles with an extra range of power and range due to electric powered engines?
Alternatives must be sought and the South Park Development Group, working with E L V Motors is developing these alternatives. In the days and weeks ahead the South Park Development Group and E L V Motors will be talking to Gail and to Robert Ovrum, L.A’s Deputy Mayor of Economic Development about transforming our city core into a best-practice, ground-zero zone that supports through advocacy and economic grants, their efforts to make Los Angeles truly green. from → Zero-Emission Vehicles: Bicycles, Zero-Emission Vehicles: Electric Cars, branding innovation and entrepreneurship by martin cavanaugh porter
